Three decades ago Yoga entered my life, and it has been an intricate part ever since. Initially my practice included meditation with a bit of asana to cope with a cancer diagnosis at the age of twenty. I began without the label of Yoga as I read books about a variety of mind-centering practices and the teachings of ancient masters. After a fifteen-year period of personal immersion I attained an initial certification in Yoga while traveling in southern India.
A thirst to live life to the fullest is fed by Yogic engagement pretty much every day, still. Early life experiences enticed me to also obtain a master's degree in Integrative Health Education, from the California Institute of Integral Studies. I also hold a certification as a Co-Active Life Coach, and have done extensive study in nutrition and fitness.
Along my teaching path I have worked with cancer patients in active treatment to at-risk youth, and military members to individuals recovering from a wide range of injuries from a variety of populations.
